What We Believe

God’s Plan of Salvation

God’s Initiative

He sent his Son, Jesus, to die on the cross, paying the penalty for your sins, and promised that “whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)

Our Response

Understand that you’re are a sinner (Romans 3:23) and that without God’s intervention, your wrongdoing will ultimately lead to death and eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23).

Realize that God Loves You

(1 John 4:10) and wants to forgive your sin (Psalms 86:5) and give you a new life (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Turn away from your sin and turn to God (Acts 3:19), accepting by faith His gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:8, Romans 10:13). If you want to make this choice now, you can express that desire to God in a prayer similar to this one:

“Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died to take the punishment for my sin. I accept your offer of forgiveness and eternal life. I thank you for what you have done for me, and give you my life from this day forward.”

After you have made this decision, you will want to share it with a Christian friend or pastor and learn how you can become involved in telling others about what Jesus Christ can do for them.

Our Beliefs

In essential beliefs we have unity

Ephesians. 4:4-6 There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called- (5) one Lord, one faith, one baptism; (6) one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

In non-essential beliefs we have liberty

Romans 14:1,4,12,22 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. (4) Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand. (22) The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

In all of our beliefs we have charity

I Corinthians 13:2 And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

Our vision: That the world may know Christ through Haughton

Our Mission: We exist to reach those who aren’t here, to teach those who are here to lift up Jesus, as we do life together.

We would be honored to have you visit FBC Haughton this Sunday!
